Tip-top shape – Spiritual health

What it means to be in tip-top shape

with your spiritual health

So what?

ICYMI, at a point in our lives, we all try yoga, meditate, join the gym, go for walks or eat a healthier diet in an attempt to improve our mental, physical or spiritual health. At some point during this attempt, we all skip a day, get sidetracked or sneak in a treat. And at some point during this slack, we give up without having reached the tip-top shape that we wanted to get to. In reality, we may already be in our tip-top shape which means that we just have to maintain your level of mental, physical or spiritual health.

Whether you’re looking to maintain or improve your mental, physical or spiritual health, it’s critical to determine what your tip-top shape is so you can adjust these “attempts” to your level of health. Otherwise, you may under or overdo your time and efforts.

In our previous post, we gave you a list of signs that your physical health is in tip-top shape.

In this post, let’s find out what your ideal tip-top shape is as it relates to your spiritual health. Have a look at the list below to see how many boxes you can tick and where you need to improve.

Signs that your spiritual health is in tip-top shape

  • Your own emotions and those of others’ don’t hinder your thought process
  • You make time to stay active and have a healthy lifestyle
  • You are able to take breaks when you need one
  • You know when to take breaks
  • You express and share what’s on your mind especially the things that bother you
  • You seek help when needed
  • You know your strengths and weaknesses
  • You work towards a balanced life
  • You have a realistic mindset
  • You make sound judgements and decisions even when things go wrong

My experience

A while back, we wrote about the fundamentals of your life. Here. We discussed that one of three things that make you who you are is your spirit (i.e. soul). Whether you are spiritual or secular, you have a soul that distinguishes right from wrong and dictates desires and morality. It wasn’t until I learned of this that I realised how important your spiritual health is. Often times, I found myself not able to make sound decisions when my emotions would get the better of me. I yelled and threw things when I got upset as well as jumping up and down all because I ignored my spiritual health and only focused on physical health with a side of mental health.

What now?

  • Did you know that your spiritual health is just as important as your mental and physical health?
  • What areas are you striving in and need to improve on?
  • In the next post, we will discuss what you can do to improve your mental health.
