Turning a problem into an innovative solution
A how-to in five steps
So what?
ICYMI – When life is full of challenges and problems, there always lies the seed of innovation and solutions. Life throws us curveballs our way, presenting problems that seem insurmountable at first. However, what if you shift your perspective and view these as opportunities for creative problem-solving? This blog series delves into turning problems into innovative solutions.
Start with a problem
A problem begins with an awareness of when a problem surfaces. Identifying the point where things go astray is your starting point. It’s much like dropping a pin on the map when you’re trying to get to a destination. You gain clarity to enable you to map out your route towards a solution when you identify and understand the nuances of the problem. You need to arm yourself with the insights that you will gain from knowing, identifying and mapping the details and intricacies of the problem at hand. If an issue is not a problem, why even spend the time and effort to turn it into a solution?
Reframe
Once you have identified and mapped out the problem that you’ve identified, transform it by shifting your perspective. Rather than seeing it as a roadblock, reframe it as a puzzle you want to unravel. Change the lens through which you view the problem. Ask yourself, “how can I approach this differently?”. You’re opening the door to creatively thinking and solving it. Your shift in the mindset allows you to turn a problem into an opportunity for growth and improvement.
