Cat supplies 101

What to get

Before you bring your fur baby home

So what?

This one is in the left field. Completely different to the typical things we post.
We recently adopted a cat. His name is Felix. His 6 months old. Very black with a bit of dark brown fur. And we love him to death. It’s the first cat I’ve ever owned. It took me hours for me to look up what we needed to buy before we brought him home. I thought I would save you the trouble and give you a list of things that you should purchase before you bring your new fur baby home if you’re bringing one home. There will be other things that you will need to purchase (i.e. deworming medicine, toys) but the below are essentials that you need BEFORE you bring your new fur baby home.

The list

  • Cat Food: Choose a high-quality food appropriate for your cat’s age and health status.
  • Food and Water Bowls: Preferably ceramic or stainless steel to avoid chin rash from plastic.
  • Litter Box and Scoop: A large box is preferred to prevent litter from being scattered around.
  • Cat Litter: Natural litter is recommended for health reasons.
  • Scratching Post: Essential for claw maintenance and to protect your furniture.
  • Toys: To keep your cat entertained and engaged.
  • Bed: A comfortable place for your cat to sleep.
  • Carrier: For safe transportation to and from the vet or other locations.
  • Collar with ID Tag: Safety measure in case your cat gets lost.
  • Grooming Tools: Such as brushes or combs suitable for your cat’s coat type.
  • Calming Diffuser: Can help ease the transition to a new environment.

What now?

  • Send us photos of your fur baby!
