with what you’re passionate about
So what?
Whether it be a hobby or something that you dabble with time to time, there are things in life that we enjoy doing, have interests in or are passionate about. At the same time, we take on jobs and careers doing things that we don’t enjoy. Various studies and researches have proven that majority of workers don’t enjoy the work they do. Some have even resulted in approximating more than 80% of us do not enjoy our jobs or careers. I’m hoping that providing you with a rundown of how to make money with what you’re passionate about can help you break up the mundane, daily grind. Perhaps you will be able to partially fund your daily expenses and even eventually replace the job you don’t enjoy.
Interests
Take a look at your life, past, present and future, for the next few days and list out all the things that interested you in the past, interest you now and you have been wanting to give a go. It doesn’t matter whether they can make you money or not.
Benefits
In case you didn’t notice, the first step was about you. The next step is to turn your focus on others. Think about each item on the list you made in the first step and ask yourself “can I use this to benefit others?”. These benefits don’t necessarily need to be exceptional or mind blowing. They can be about simply informing, leading, entertaining, being useful and engaging. Cross off the items on your list that don’t benefit others.
Vehicle
The final step is to brainstorm ways that you can deliver these benefits and make money at the same time. No idea is a bad idea at this point in time. Create a list of these methods of delivery next to each item from the steps 1 and 2. Is it through a subscription model? Can you offer specific products or services? Will you be able to exchange your time?
My experience
We started this business using this very method. We found something that we’re passionate about (i.e. life admin) and a way to deliver benefits to our clients through a subscription model. It took a few weeks for us but I can tell you that it was well worth it!
