Wrong or no photo
Having wrong photos or not having photos at all on your website lead to a user experience that is dull and uninteresting. This will cause your bounce rate to be higher as well as lower engagement. Photos are essential for showcasing your products and services and creating a sense of visual interest and branding.
Pick the right photos for your website by considering whether they are relevant to the content of the website and your target audience, getting high quality and professional images taken and making sure they are appropriate in terms of the subject matter and tone you want to convey.
No video
In our opinion, videos are not as essential as photos unless your products and/or services are complicated. Videos are much more effective in communicating complex ideas and concepts compared to photos which make them an effective tool for educating your visitors about the products and/or services you have on offer. Videos also help to build brand recognition and establish your business’s unique identify and personality. Your visitors will also spend longer time on your website which will increase your conversion rate.
Not any videos will do. Make sure that they align with your brand by having them be consistent with your business’s voice, tone and values. You can do so by defining your objective and identifying your goals you want to achieve. Are you trying to increase your brand awareness? Drive sales? Educate your audience? Answering these questions will help guide your content creation process.
