Problem into solution (Part 3)

Turning a problem into an innovative solution

A how-to in five steps

So what?

ICYMI – When life is full of challenges and problems, there always lies the seed of innovation and solutions. Life throws us curveballs our way, presenting problems that seem insurmountable at first. However, what if you shift your perspective and view these as opportunities for creative problem-solving? This blog series delves into turning problems into innovative solutions.

Solution

Once you’ve identified and mapped a problem as we’ve discussed in our previous post, you need to shift gears from problem-spotting to solution-seeking. It’s all about asking the right questions. You should ask questions such as “what can be done differently?”, “where are the opportunities for improvement?” and “what can I do about the problem?”. Turning a problem into a solution is a mindset shift from dwelling on the problem to actively seeking ways to address it.

Model the behaviour

The next step is particularly important for those that are parents or are in a professional setting. Turning a problem into a solution is not just about introducing new tools or strategies. It’s also about creating a culture that embraces change and innovation. When you buy into a solution and actively support its implementation, you are setting the stage for success. Modelling the behaviour is crucial to show that you are the guiding force and showcasing how to utilise the new tools and approaches so that your child or team members witness you demonstrating how to transform problem to solution with a growth mindset.
